Coming Home.

Homecoming weekend at U.Va is always a good time- alumni come back for a couple days, the weather is changing to fall, tailgates are breaking out the grills and food, football games are being played, general fun and comradery. This year's homecoming in particular has been great. UVA actually won a football game and the weather has been phenomenal. I've really missed my friends who graduated last year and it's been so comforting to have them back here, if only for a few days. They help to keep my young and in touch with reality. I feel like the cosmos are realigned with familiar faces here.

One of the best aspects of homecoming each year for me is that I get to see my old RA from first year. She was a 4th year my first year and has been a continuous role model in my life of what being a U.Va student is all about. For both of us, it's crazy to think back to 3 years ago when we met- but it's a nice reminder of how friendships grow and last despite the inconvenience of distance. Elizabeth, if you're reading this, i <3 you, thanks for everything!

I hope that in future years, if and when I choose to come back for homecoming (a.) other friends will be back too and (b.) i'll have some underclassmen friends around who are still worth seeing.
