In high school I became obsessed with some quality Amr Diab and Rhageb Alama. In my room, in the car, in the shower, I was always listening to Middle Eastern beats with the sound of the Oud and the Tabla coming together and bringing about images of dusty streets, tea in glasses, and ungloved old grandmothers making pita breads in holes in the walls.
Tonight on shuffle I stumbled upon this great genre of music. Don't mind me, I'll be rocking out.
