facebook fail

I don't know if it's just me but what's up w/ commenting on your own wall? If I post on your wall and happen to ask a question, should you post back or should you comment on my post? How far removed should I be for it to become not-okay for me to comment on a post or a link etc? ...i'm just a tad confused. I may have missed the memo on the etiquette of facebook commenting?
