When my roommate and I had signed onto our lease we put in the agreement that we wanted to have the apartment painted and the wood floors waxed prior to our arrival. She finally conceited to our demands however when we arrived, the floors were certainly not done, the apartment wasn't particularly clean, and she left a bunch of rugs here. Over the past week, I have watched as the apartment across from mine gets updated. They tore down a wall opening up the kitchen to the main sitting room, retiled the floor in the kitchen and put in new cabinetry (probably appliances too! arg). The bathroom was also fixed up and perhaps a paint job was done(?). Every time I'd hear movement over there, I'd casually open my door and peak my head in to see the progression. I was amazing and a bit jealous that it was all done in the course of a week! Sometimes, even when I didn't hear people over there though, I'd try the door handle to see if I could take another look. But don't worry, I won't do it again, especially since there will probably be people moving in soon.
I want my apartment to be updated... She said it could perhaps happen over the summer if we renew. We'll see if she follows through on her offer.
