UPC (university programs council) put together an event last night in which the Charlottesville Symphony and the UVA orchestra performed together on the Amphitheater stage. The amphitheater was packed with probably a bit over a thousand bodies all communally listening to bows hit strings, lips touch brass instruments, feet tap the ground, and all the while watching the conductors arms lifted in the air gracefully directing sweet notes to fill the air.It was a delightful and cultured way to spend a Saturday evening.
