Hurricane City

Sun, Gin, and Chocolate are things that make Bob Girard sneeze
so he named his CD after that.

A week ago, I was stressing about how and where I would get tshirts made for the Coptic Club conference coming up. I had called several places: people either didn't answer the phone, had major tude, or wanted to charge me an arm and leg. Then my friend Bobby mentioned to me that his organization had used this company here in cville called Hurricane City. So I looked up his website and gave him a ring. A nice older man answered the phone and gave me great information ensuring that I'd have my product by the end of the week! awesome.

Little did I know, when I made that call, I was meeting one of the coolest random folk ever. Bob Girard is the name of the man that owns and operates Hurricane City Tee's. Today when I picked up the shirts I learned a lot about him in a short but genuine conversation. He went to UVA has 3 kids, two of whom are at VA colleges, has been married for twenty years and is an all around really nice guy. So why tshirts? Well, he used to be in a band called Live from the Hook that started here in Cville. In fact there's a documentary or rather a 'rockumentary' made about them. When that kinda fizzled he worked at a tshirt place and then decided to open his own shop which would appreciate customers more...that he does.

His quaint little shop is located two streets away from the Bodo's on Preston and he is diligent with his job and congenial with his customers...he even gave me one of his cd's on my way out the door. So if you ever need a tshirt made, call Bob Girard and name drop me. heheehe.
