The beginning of the Goodbyes

One of my dearest friends at UVA leaves town tomorrow. He's not just going away for a week or a weekend. Nope. This is the beginning of the really hard goodbyes that each and every fourth year will face this year. Whether it's now or in a few months on graduation day, goodbyes are not so easy.

Tonight I participated in a 4th year panel for the final night of First Year Seminars. It was a fun experience to shed my knowledge, failures, and funny stories of the past few years. I watched as 1st through 3rd years all jotted down notes while the 4th years around me shared their tales. It was an exercise in reflection which obviously will continue...

Tomorrow, I'll have to say goodbye to that great friend who shared his fruit snacks with me in a history class first year. Thanks and good luck. Don't mind if I spontaneously show up on your doorstep with a crowd sometime in the next few months.

This one's to you! :-)

  1. Aw, Cassandra, this makes me sad. : ( It's such a weird time- all the leaving and goodbyes and bittersweet celebration. I was taken aback by the suddenness of it. hope you're doing well.
