Cville Style

Coming to UVA from my quasi stuck-up bubble that was my high school, I thought that the crazy preppiness of St Stephen's would continue. I was told that boys and gals in polos and khakis would be the norm. On the contrary, I pleasantly found that the style here was actually quite different than the average fratstar. (Granted, my friend Steven still rocks the flops and polos and isn't a fratstar, but it fits his style).

When I got here, I put away my polos that I had so desired to own as a means of fitting in at my HS. They were pushed to the back of my drawers and broken out for costume parties. Today, I own one polo; it's black and the last time I wore it was to a Badminton party in the fall. Instead, the style here is kinda urban/retro. I'm sitting here in Para coffee admiring a kid on the couch's combination of red keds and checkered black and white socks; the gal behind the counter wears a purple shirt with dinosaurs on it; and another gal to my left has 'Love Wins.' written on her gray vans.

Thank you Cville for being way more chill and interesting than I thought you'd be.
