Solstice: First Bug Bites of the Summer!

Monday, the 21st, marked the beginning of Summer.

To me, it's felt like summer outside for awhile now but ringing in the new season, I've tried to spend a lot of time outside - soaking up the sun and the warm summer air by day and by night. All the while, NOVA/DC has been seeing some really hot temperatures in the high 90's and yesterday in particular I was feeling quite hot. Whenever my friend Arin and I took a step outside yesterday she would exclaim "it's hottt," as if our bodies hadn't already noticed.

Well, despite my attempts of spending lots of time outside, I received my initiation rites of my first bug bites of the summer while INDOORs! It must have happened while perusing the isles of Barnes & Noble yesterday morning. After paying for my book and getting in my car, I realized my right leg was itchy. Ok one bug bite, no big deal. But I soon realized there were two on my leg and one on my hand! Oh great. My body's antihistamines are wack and I swell up like crazy when I get bug bites, so I'm trying very very hard to resist the urge to itch them or even think about them.
