So much for writing everyday!...as usual when I start blogs, I get to a point when life just seems busy and I get lazy and seem to forget (whether actively or passively) to post.
Here's the week in review: Classes started on Tuesday and as I posted last time, there were mixed emotions as I began. I'm fired up about some of my classes and less about others but I think I've got a pretty good semester ahead. 17 credits for now, but that's subject to change over the course of this coming week: A little History (+research), Religious Studies, an English class, Comm class, and a music class. My music class is a course I was super excited about in the Spring and then got nervous about it through the summer and then on day one became very intimidated. I'm sticking with it for the beginning of this week and have emailed the prof about chatting after class on Mon to see if I'm cut out for that kind of environment. I can imagine my apt mates and neighbors not being too fond of me when I have to do my drumming homework/practice through the semester. While stressing about keeping that class, I then debating becoming a religious studies double major (b/c i've got the minor plus some as it is). I spent and afternoon with Doug in the Religious Studies office and then sat in on a major seminar which was pretty cool butttttt over the course of the weekend I'm realizing that I don't think I need to pick the RS major up. I can just continue to take the religious studies classes that I love and reevaluate at the end of the semester. For now, I need to focus on research and other stuff.
Academics aside, the week's been good. It's nice to again, feel surrounded by students. I've loved the quiet of cville summers but the town feels so alive with students here. It feels good to be a 4th year and on top (though sometimes while talking to firsties I do envy the newness of their experiences).
The weekend has been pretty full: I had two friends visiting town (a gal from FOCUS camp and my best friend from home). So between seeing both of them, recharging from the week, and having countless errands and things to do, I'm ready for a quiet afternoon reading and being productive....meaning, it's time for me to get off my blog for now.
Good day.
