Dawes

Last Monday, I joined Anne and some of her H-burg friends for a concert at The Southern. The Dawes were opening for Langhorne Slim. I hadn't heard of either band prior to being asked to come along but I became acquainted with their jams via their myspace music page. The show was awesome and culminated in being asked on stage by Langhorne. The openers though, Dawes, were the ones to blow me away. They had a sweet folk rock influence and their frontman Taylor really looked like he was having a good time, as the pianist modeled an amazing smile and harmonizing voice, the drummer hit each beat with the entirety of his body and the bassist, kneeling on the stage in his pink cords let his fingers traveled the expansive fingerboard of his bass. Take a listen...look up "Love is all I am."
